Christine Wheatley

Christine Wheatley is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Sociology. Her dissertation project centers on processes of deportation, both as a form of exclusion and of forced return migration.  She has completed two phases of pre-dissertation fieldwork in Jalisco, Mexico and will complete a third phase this summer in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Her research from the Jalisco-based fieldwork was published in the December 2011 issue of The Latin Americanist for a special issue on Latin American migration.
