Liberal Arts Building Services works with many different stakeholders on major new construction projects including the upgrading, substantial renovation and expansion of existing buildings. Projects under $4 million are managed on campus, and projects over that amount are managed by the University of Texas System Office of Facilities Planning and Construction. Liberal Arts Building Services provides support for several aspects of these projects.
In most cases, Liberal Arts Building Services provides coordination and representation with project architects, contractors and vendors to insure the needs of our faculty, students, and staff are met. The process of major construction involves many steps that can be confusing to those not familiar with large facilities projects. Even with the best laid plans, details can change quickly due to a variety of internal and external factors.
We do our best to directly communicate relevant issues that arise to our community as quickly and clearly. Having a dedicated facilities support team for Liberal Arts who have years of combined experience provides continuity and expertise to make these projects go as smoothly as possible.
Current projects include:
In general, we will work with department chairs and directors to schedule information sessions for faculty and staff regarding these types of renovations.
However, if you are a faculty or staff member and want more information about these projects for your administrative and planning needs, feel free to contact Grant Barger for up to date information.
