Console Keys FAQ

Who is authorized to check out console keys?

All university faculty and staff (including TAs and AIs) may check out the console keys for classrooms managed by our support group.

Whom should student groups contact to obtain console keys?

Student groups or organizations must check out console keys from the Office of the Dean of Students, SSB 4.104 (Phone: 471-3065) 

Which consoles can I access with this key?

This key will work for all the classrooms supported by the LAITS classroom support group. If your classroom is not on this list, you can find the appropriate classroom contact by searching the university-wide technology classroom database. 

How do I check out a key, and how long will it take?

Please visit the front desk in MEZ 2.302 between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. It should only take a few minutes to have a key issued to you.

How long can I keep a console key?

You may keep the key as long as needed as a member of the UT community (i.e. an active student or staff member).  If you no longer plan on using the key, please return it to MEZ 2.302.
