The Languages Web site provides in a single location descriptions of languages taught in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. It also provides links to departments teaching each language and other links of interest to learners and advisers exploring language studies at UT and abroad.
Founded in 2001, the Humanities Institute at The University of Texas at Austin is one of the youngest centers for the humanities at major American universities. It is also among the most innovative in its mission and in the scope and character of the community partnership and public humanities programs that it sponsors. The Institute has gained widespread recognition both for interdisciplinary academic programs that have broadened and deepened collaborative inquiry and collegiality on the UT campus and for civic initiatives that have helped place UT-Austin in the vanguard of a national trend to bring intellectual engagement with local communities from the margins to the center of the public university's mission.
The Humanities Program offers the highly motivated and able student the opportunity to fashion his or her own course of study as a major for the B.A. degree. Each applicant to the program consults with the Humanities adviser to design a major consisting of forty-two credit hours beyond The University's basic education requirements.
The Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICA) carries out multi-disciplinary archaeological research, conservation, and cultural resource management projects in the territory of ancient Greek colonies in southern Italy and on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine. ICA was established as a research unit in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas, Austin, in 1974.
The International Study office at UT-Austin puts an increased emphasis on developing and integrating into the university curriculum well-designed study-abroad opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students as well as programs that bring faculty, visiting scholars, and students from other countries to The University of Texas at Austin.
Since 1992, the Programme for Belize Archaeological Project has conducted original research concerning ancient Maya civilization in northwestern Belize, on land owned by the Programme for Belize, a Belizean controlled non-profit organization established in 1988.
Shakespeare at Winedale is a University of Texas program dedicated to bringing Shakespeare to life through performance. Shakespeare at Winedale is a program of the Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts, but many of its activities are centered on the Winedale Historical Center near Round Top, Texas, where for more than thirty-five years students and audiences have come to encounter Shakespeare’s living art.

UTeach-Liberal Arts represents a collaboration between UT-Austin's Colleges of Liberal Arts and Education to transform secondary school teacher certification from the ground up. Program designers surveyed and interviewed teachers and experts from across the state to answer this simple question: what best prepares an undergraduate to teach English, Social Studies, or a language other than English in middle and high schools today? UTeach-Liberal Arts puts their collective wisdom into practice.
