Welcome to The University of Texas at Austin

Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to welcome you to campus as an official Longhorn. We want to be sure you are aware of some of the ways ITS can enrich and support your time at the university.

Here is some information that will help you with IT on campus:

  • Scan your computer – Help protect your work and personal information from Internet hazards, by scanning your computer. This also helps protect others on the campus network. Make sure your Windows computer is configured as securely as possible by following the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA)Tutorial instructions.
  • Visit the Getting Started Web site – The Getting Started Web site is a good place to learn about the wide variety of technology products and services that ITS provides to members of the campus community.
  • Learn about your rights and responsibilities – The Acceptable Use Policy covers the responsibilities and rules that are part of using technology on campus. It’s good to understand these rules and consequences of violating them before you arrive at the university.

If you have any technology-related questions or concerns as you settle in to your new life on campus, please contact the ITS Help Desk at (512) 475-9400.

We looking forward to working with you throughout your college career.
