ITS would like to announce the following training opportunities that will be available to university staff in the next few months.

SANS Training

Splunk Training
Splunk 4 has just been released and training for this version started in September. These virtual classes are instructor-led and taught remotely from the Splunk virtual classroom in California. Contact ITS to request enrollment.

EID Administrative Tools
This course will familiarize you with the terminology and business processes of the university's identity management system, particularly the Web-based tool for administering the UT electronic identifier (UT EID). Use TXClass to enroll for the following classes.

Electronic Campus and Department Contacts Security Information Classes
The Electronic Campus class introduces you to the administrative computer system, also known as the mainframe, computer security policy, and the UT EID and employee Web services. The Department Contacts Security Information class introduces department contacts to procedures for accessing administrative computing services on campus.

Online Education (OLEDU) Courses
ITS has purchased four licenses for the OLEDU course offerings. Each course is developed by Mindleaders and includes fully certified curriculum. Subject areas covered by the courses include:

  • End-User Desktop Computing
  • Technical General
  • Technical Microsoft – MCSE
  • Technical Web Development

Each license is available for checkout for specific time durations. To request a course, send an e-mail message with the course title to training@its.utexas.edu. ITS will provide you with login information or the date when the next license will be available for checkout.
