Presidential hopeful Senator Joe Biden to speak at UT Austin

Event: A lecture by U.S. Senator Joseph Biden titled “National Security: A Broader Strategy.”

When: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006.

Where: LBJ Auditorium, LBJ School of Public Affairs, 2315 Red River St., The University of Texas at Austin.

Background: A contender for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, Joseph R. Biden, Jr. was first elected to the United States Senate in 1972 at the age of 29. The top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a member of the Judiciary Committee, he is recognized as one of the nation’s most powerful and influential voices on foreign relations, terrorism, drug policy and crime prevention.

Cosponsored by the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the LBJ Library and Museum, this lecture is free and open to the students, faculty and staff of UT Austin. A limited number of free passes are available at the Student Events Center Ticket Office, Texas Union 4.300. Individuals must present a UT ID to obtain a pass.
