Workshops and Events

Official registration and payment deadline information is published in the Academic Calendar and Course Schedule.  Some specific official dates have been listed below but always check the Academic Calendar for the complete listing.  That calendar is the official source of information for registration and payment deadlines.

To pay your tuition and fee bill online, go to the "MyTuitionBill" web site. 
To pay in person, go to the cashiers in Main Building, Room 8, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Key Student Services Dates

FALL, 2009
September 24 - December 4 Q/F drop period. Dropping a course requires the approval of the instructor (who must assign a "Q" or "F), the Graduate Adviser, and the Graduate Dean.
October 12 Last day to apply for a graduate degree.
October 21 Last day to change grade status to or from the credit/no credit basis.
Last day for new doctoral candidates to change registration to dissertation.
October 23 Workshop to prepare graduating doctoral students to meet final deadlines and requirements for their degree. PHR 2.116, 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
November 26-28 Thanksgiving holidays.
December 4 Last class day. This is the last day to drop a class or withdraw from the fall semester.
Last day to submit master’s report, recital, thesis, doctoral dissertation, or treatise to the graduate dean.
SPRING 2010
October 26 - November 6, 2009 Registration for the spring semester for continuing and readmitted students. Tuition/Fee bill notices emailed to students. Payment deadline is 5 p.m. January 22, 2010.
November 10, 2009 Tuition/Fee bills for spring semester are emailed to students.
January 11-12, 2010

Registration for continuing and readmitted students; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. January 22.
Add/drop for students who have registered and paid. Pay for added classes by 5 p.m. February 3.
Schedule changes for graduate students who have registered but not paid. Payment deadline is 5 p.m. on January 22.

January 13 Registration for new and readmitted students; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. January 22.
January 13-15 Add/drop for students who registered and paid; notices not sent; pay for added classes by 5 p.m. February 3.
January 13-15 and 19-22 Schedule changes for graduate students who have registered but not paid. Payment deadline is 5 p.m. January 22.
January 14 Registration for continuing students; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. January 22.
January 15 Registration for all students who have not yet registered; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. January 22.
January 19 FIRST CLASS DAY
January 19-22 $25 late registration for all students; registration performed online by student; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. January 22.
Online add/drop for paid students; notices not sent; pay for added courses by 5 p.m. February 3.
January 22 5 p.m. payment deadline for Spring 2010 tuition and fee bills. Students with a zero bill must confirm their registration online to prevent cancellation.
January 15 - February 3 (weekdays only) $50 late registration for all students; notices not sent; pay by 5 p.m. same day. Requests for late registration require Petition for Late Registration form signed by Graduate Adviser and Instructor/Supervisor of record. (Note: Late fees increase to $200 on February 4, and those requests must also be accompanied by a petition letter from the Graduate Adviser.)
Classes may be added, delete-dropped, and grade status changed in the department offering the course. Payment deadline for added courses is 5 p.m. February 3.
February 3 The TWELFTH CLASS DAY.
Last day to add and delete-drop classes.
Payment deadline for added courses is 5 p.m. Failure to meet this deadline will result in cancellation of registration! There is a $200 fee charged when reinstating registration which has been cancelled for nonpayment. Waivers of this fee are not granted.
February 4 - 15 Auto Q drop period. Courses may be dropped without academic penalty. Submit Add/Drop form signed by the Graduate Adviser to the Graduate School for approval.
February 16 - May 7 Q/F drop period. Submit Add/Drop forms signed by the Graduate Adviser and instructor to the Graduate School for approval. Course instructor must assign a "Q" symbol or grade of "F."
March 25 Last day to apply for a graduate degree.
March 29 Last day to change graduate status to or from the credit/no credit basis.
Last day for new doctoral candidates to change registration to dissertation.
May 7 Last class day.
Last day to Q-drop a class or withdraw.
Last day to submit master's report, recital, thesis, doctoral dissertation, or treatise to the graduate dean for a spring graduation.
May 22, 2010 Graduate School Convocation, Bass Concert Hall, Master's ceremony at 9:00 am, Doctoral ceremony at noon

October 23, 2009 The Graduate School is hosting a workshop for graduating doctoral students from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in PHR 2.116. At this workshop there will be a review of graduation guidelines, deadlines, and dissertation submission instructions. Graduate school degree evaluators will be available to answer individual questions.
